Chaos on the dock in the port of Marina Grande in Capri, where this afternoon more than 500 passengers crowded together, mostly commuters, workers and groups of day tourists leaving from Sorrento and Castellammare.
The passengers, despite having a ticket, did not find the hydrofoil that had remained in Sorrento at its usual moorings, it is not known whether this was due to a breakdown or the rough sea.
The protest started, and not finding an alternative means of return to land, the passengers blocked the departure of the hydrofoil Altair of the Snav company with over 300 passengers on board that was ready to weigh anchor at 16.30:XNUMX to reach Naples. The sailors of the port authority, the company staff but also the Police and Carabinieri had to intervene.
The protest died down when it was learned that the Caremar fast motor vessel was arriving in the port of Capri, which would take on board the passengers left on land and make the 18.40 pm trip to Sorrento.
The hydrofoil Altair, after about an hour of delay, was able to weigh anchor and make its journey to Naples with over 300 passengers on board. The situation gradually returned to normal on the Capri – Naples route with subsequent journeys.
