Late this morning, prompt action by the State Police and the Carabinieri led to the arrest of two individuals, a 57-year-old from Teano and a 39-year-old from Naples, both already known to law enforcement for criminal records.
The two were arrested for attempted aggravated robbery in a credit institution on Via Vittorio Emanuele in frattamaggiore. Furthermore, the 39-year-old was wanted for escape, having already been subjected to the measure of house arrest for property crimes.
The intervention was triggered after a report reached the local Operations Room, which alerted the agents of the Frattamaggiore Police Station and the military of the Carabinieri Station. Once on site, the operators broke into the bank, identifying and stopping the two criminals, found in possession of a scalpel and a pair of scissors.
From the first investigations, it emerged that the two, armed with the aforementioned objects, had threatened the bank staff in an attempt to get them to hand over money. However, the promptness of the police prevented the robbery from being successful.
The two individuals were then arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The episode confirms the effectiveness of the synergic work between the Police and the Carabinieri in ensuring the safety of the territory, even in emergency situations like this one.
