An innovative project comes to life with the creation of a winery within the Archaeological Park, born from the collaboration between the Tenute Capaldo Group and the park itself. This initiative aims to enhance the vineyards and the cultural heritage of the site through a public-private partnership.
Union of experiences
The new winemaking facility will extend over 6 hectares, integrating structures for winemaking and refinement within the perimeter of the Park. The initiative aims at a synergy between historical knowledge and modern viticultural techniques. The project is based on the union of the skills of the Park and the wineries of the Tenute Capaldo Group, without following traditional concession models.
The project will involve the historic vineyards, which have been studied since the 1990s by the Park's Applied Research Laboratory. According to the Park's Director, the studies aim to explore the historical and scientific characteristics of Pompeii's vineyards, including olive growing and social agriculture.
Winemaking excellence
The winery will be managed organically and will use innovative research on traditional techniques. In collaboration with the University of Milan and the agronomists of the Tenute Capaldo Group, the goal is to produce high-quality wines that reflect local history and culture. The involvement of the Third Sector aims to integrate into the social and cultural context of the territory.
The president of Feudi di San Gregorio highlighted the importance of the project for the enhancement of the territory and the communities, deepening the work on native vines. This initiative intends to revitalize the historical productive legacy of Pompeii, promoting sustainable development.
