The ghost of the operational arm of the former waste consortium Ce4 (Caserta 4), Eco4, the company at the center of many investigations into the relationship between politics, business and the Camorra, continues to periodically appear in courtrooms, and which at the moment have heavily involved the former Undersecretary of the Economy, Nicola Cosentino, and the former minister Mario Landolfi (the latter is reportedly facing a request for a sentence of 3 years and six months in prison). In recent days, however, the provincial press has reported the existence of a new investigation into the consortium that included about twenty municipalities between the Caserta coast and the Agro Caleno. The District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office has reportedly sent twenty people a notice of conclusion of investigations in the context of an inquiry into the bankruptcy of the Eco4 company. Among those under investigation, accused - it seems - of fraudulent bankruptcy, there are apparently names of note from the past and present of the area's politics. The online newspaper of the Alto Casertano area reports the names of the former mayors Giuseppe Di Bernardo (Camigliano), Antonio Bonaccio (Pastorano) and Antonio Merola (Sparanise), of the former councilor Francesco D'Alonzo (Pignataro Maggiore), of the then political heir apparent of the former minister Landolfi, Mattia Di Lorenzo, of Pasquale Cammuso of Giano Vetusto and of Antimo D'Errico of Bellona. To these would be added Sergio Orsi of Casal di Principe and Giuseppe Valente of Mondragone. For some it is assumed, in their capacity as members of the board of directors of the Eco Quattro consortium - declared bankrupt by a sentence of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere of 1/4/08 - of having contributed to determining the bankruptcy of the company.
