“An act of love and respect towards the city rather than a palace game.”, reads the note by Michele Russo, former candidate for Mayor and city councilor of the coalition TOGETHER FOR SCAFATI.
Russo is referring to the no-confidence vote that the former mayor received from 13 city councilors and which he considers a “palace game.”
“Salvati appears out of touch with reality. He talks about the no-confidence vote he received from 13 councilors, who represent the absolute majority of the City Council, as a palace trick. Salvati ignores or pretends to ignore that he no longer had the numbers to govern, he no longer had the majority. – explains the leader of Insieme per Scafati -.
“He had managed to stay in power already last February thanks to the abstention of two city councilors on the motion of no confidence, then in October he obtained the thirteenth vote on the budget only thanks to a maneuver of pure political transformism, acquiring the vote of an opposition councilor, in return with an assessorship. In the first days of January he presented a document in his support with the signatures of only seven city councilors, compared to an electoral majority of 15, self-certifying that he no longer had the confidence of the Council, and now he speaks of palace games.
He was not able to govern, the 13 councilors did well in the interest and for the love of the city to vote no confidence in the Mayor to avoid a stalemate, which risked continuing in the coming months, and producing other messes like those of the resolutions of December 31, on the budget variations and on the three-year plan for public works, approved with various defects including first and foremost the quorum of 13 votes not reached. And for these defects I announce that I will appeal to the TAR for the annulment of the resolutions and all connected and consequent acts, in order to guarantee compliance with the rules and the municipal statute.
