A man of Tunisian nationality was arrested by agents of the State Police and the Municipal Police of Salerno yesterday evening in flagrante delicto for the crime of attempted murder.

The man stabbed another non-EU citizen, of Pakistani nationality, on the seafront of Salerno. Two local police officers intervened to stop the Tunisian and a fight ensued, during which the two officers suffered injuries that are thought to heal in 10 days.
The arrested man, locked up in the Fuorni prison, will also have to answer for the crime of assaulting a public official.
