An anti-Camorra operation at dawn today in the area of San Giovanni a Teduccio and Ponticelli led to the imprisonment of 11 members of the Mazzarella and De Luca Bossa-Schisa-Minichini clans who have been fighting for years for the control of illegal activities.
The State Police and the Carabinieri, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples - District Anti-Mafia Directorate - are in fact executing an order for the application of precautionary measures against 16 people.
All seriously accused, to varying degrees, of mafia association, possession and carrying of weapons, association for the purpose of drug trafficking, extortion against entrepreneurs and traders between Ponticelli and various municipalities in the Vesuvian area.
The investigation has allowed us to reveal the existence and operation of two distinct Camorra gangs: one constituting a de facto territorial branch of the Mazzarella clan of Naples and the other constituting a de facto territorial branch of the Neapolitan clan of De Luca Bossa-Schisa-Minichini.
