Over the last weekend, from 2 to 4 February, 22 victims were recorded on Italian roads due to accidents, a slight increase compared to the previous weekend (20).
This is what was reported from Asaps, the Association of Supporters and Friends of the Traffic Police based in Forlì. The youngest victim was 19 years old, while the oldest was 89. Among the victims, 13 were motorists, six motorcyclists, a pedestrian, a cyclist and a truck driver.
Two accidents caused the death of more than one person, with a total of four victims. The report also considers the death of a 35-year-old woman that occurred seven days after a serious accident: ASAPS takes these cases into account, considering all road victims even when the death occurs later and more than 30 days after the accident.
Seven fatal accidents were caused by the vehicle leaving the vehicle without third-party involvement, while ten occurred on state and provincial roads and one on a motorway. Five of the victims were under 35 years old.
The regions with the highest number of deaths were Emilia-Romagna with 6, Puglia with 4, Lombardy with 3, followed by Campania and Sicily with 2, and finally Veneto, Lazio, Abruzzo, Calabria and Sardinia with one death each.
