17-Year-Old From Naples Reported For Fraud To An Elderly Woman In Florence

An 17 year old from Napoli he was reported for aggravated fraud by the Florence Railway Police. The boy was caught on Friday evening at the Santa Maria Novella train station with a backpack full of jewelry and money, the loot from a scam on a 90-year-old woman.

The 17-year-old had 70 gold jewels worth 25.000 euros and an envelope with 1.600 euros. A sheet of A4 paper signed by the victim was also found on him, in which a “guarantee fund” was accepted for her son.

The woman had been contacted by phone by a fake policeman who had asked her for money to avoid prison for her son, responsible for a non-existent road accident. The 90-year-old had then handed over to a self-styled “court trainee” all her valuables and 1.600 euros.

Thanks to the intervention of the Polfer, jewels and money were returned to the victim. The 17-year-old was reported for aggravated fraud.
