The earthquake tremors of the night in the Campi Flegrei area have created "tensions and concerns also in the Neapolitan juvenile prison of Nisida“, as explained by the Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police through its General Secretary Donato Capece.
"The earthquake caused concern among inmates and officers, but the police were busy, with great professionalism all night to avoid inconvenience and alarmism but above all that the situation could degenerate", explains the leader of the Sappe, who has words of "gratitude for the members of the Penitentiary Police who were able to manage the situation in the best possible way".
Sappe points out that "in the IPM of Nisida there are more than 73 inmates, the penitentiary police staff was composed of 5 units present, instead of 7 planned. The staff of Nisida in addition to guaranteeing their shifts and covering more service positions is forced to also skip their due rest therefore to be recalled to service".
Capece trusts in the sensitivity of the head of the Department of Community Juvenile Justice Antonio Sangermano "so that, through the competent technical offices, he evaluates the structural stability of the juvenile prison of Nisida and, if necessary, also adopts temporary measures to close the IPM".
