Last December, in the heart of the province of Parma, precisely in Noceto, a soccer field was the scene of a violent accident that caused a young local soccer player to suffer a fractured jaw. Now, following investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, the alleged perpetrator has been reported for personal injury, risking a disqualification that could keep him away from the playing fields for a prolonged period.
The incident dates back to a football match in the promotion championship between Noce and a team from Piacenza. During the match, a 20-year-old from the home team was hit in the face by an opponent, suffering serious injuries to the jaw. The attack occurred "in a gratuitous manner and without any motivation related to the game", the carabinieri stressed.
The young footballer ended up on the ground with a bleeding face, and was subsequently transported to the hospital in Parma. After 25 days of prognosis, he was discharged, but the fractured jaw will remain an indelible sign of the episode. The brutality of the act is further highlighted by the fact that the aggression occurred with the ball far away and in a manner completely unrelated to the progress of the match, so much so that the refereeing team did not even notice it, allowing the game to continue.
The Carabinieri investigations revealed that there were no previous disagreements or provocations between the two footballers before the incident. The aggressor, however, justified himself to the injured player's teammates, claiming that he had not thought he had hit so violently as to cause damage to the opponent.
The injured footballer, in the days following the incident, filed a complaint at the Noceto Carabinieri station, indicating the match and the aggressor's shirt number. After hearing several witnesses among the spectators and players, the Carabinieri concluded that the act of violence was unrelated to the game, leading to the charge of personal injury and the reporting to the administrative authority for a possible disqualification of the alleged perpetrator. The incident raises questions about safety and compliance with ethical rules on playing fields, drawing attention to the measures to be adopted to prevent similar incidents in the future.
