Ischia – An important step forward for the reconstruction of Ischia: a memorandum of understanding was signed between Commissioner Giovanni Legnini and the Campania professional orders to speed up procedures and expand the number of professionals involved.
Criteria and requirements for assignments
The protocol establishes the general criteria and minimum requirements for the assignment of design, construction management and testing tasks for the private reconstruction of buildings damaged by the earthquake and landslides.
Lists of professionals
Professional associations will form lists of technicians interested in taking on the tasks. These lists will be used by the Commissioner to identify professionals to propose to citizens who need to rebuild their properties.
Objective: to speed up procedures
The aim is to speed up the reconstruction procedures and overcome the delays that have occurred so far. The Commissioner will in fact be able to activate a substitute intervention in the event of failure to submit the projects within the established deadlines.
Public notice for technicians
A public notice will be published in the next few days to collect expressions of interest from professionals who wish to be included in the lists.
Training and monitoring
The Commissioner's Office will organize training courses for professionals and establish a monitoring committee to follow the progress of the works.
Public meeting on May 15th
On Wednesday, May 15, at 17:30 p.m., at the Enrico Mattei Technical Institute in Casamicciola Terme, a public meeting will be held to present the contents of special ordinance no. 8, which contains “incisive and innovative” provisions for private reconstruction.
A commitment to reconstruction
The agreement with the professional orders is a concrete sign of Commissioner Legnini's commitment to speed up the reconstruction of Ischia and to guarantee citizens the right to return to their homes as soon as possible.
