“Alburni Borghi Salute e Benessere is the identity brand of the network of Alburni villages that offer a lifestyle made of typical local food and wine, hospitality, history, environment, tourism, wellness and outdoor activities. A new way of designing the future, creating tourism and experiencing the inland towns”. Thus, the vice president of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola, at the conference on Tourism and Internal Areas held yesterday evening in the Norman castle of Postiglione, on the occasion of the event “Alburni Borghi, Salute e Benessere: verso Strettule” organized by the Municipality of Postiglione, thanks to regional funding promoted by Scabec and the Ministry of Tourism.
Project that sees regional funding promote five villages of the Alburni, with Postiglione as the leading body, together with the Municipalities of Palomonte, Serre, Sicignano degli Alburni and Controne. “The aim of the project – explained the vice-president of the Region – is to launch the BSB brand that identifies the network of 48 aggregations of municipalities with 340 Campanian villages that benefit from the regional funding Borghi, Salute e Benessere, which promotes the small villages of the internal areas, tracing a line that moves in the direction of economic development and the fight against depopulation linked to good living, well-being and cultural, food and wine, environmental, outdoor and historical tourism that offers lifestyle as its main element".
“Only through a concrete promotion and valorization of the small villages in a network among themselves through actions that aim to create a system of hospitality that has at least 300 beds in each network of villages – added the vice president of the Campania Region – can we stop the depopulation, and offer tourists but also emigrants and their descendants, the opportunity to stay, return, live and share customs, ancient traditions and beauties of the villages, thus rediscovering their roots and strengthening the identity of the villages”.
Fight against depopulation and tourism development, through – “a project that includes the strengthening of infrastructures and the creation of a connection network with road transport between the internal areas and the Salerno-Amalfi Coast airport and on which the Palazzo Santa Lucia Authority is working” – as announced by the president of the regional transport commission Campania, Luca Cascone, in response to the request of the mayor of Postiglione, the mayor Carmine Cennamo, of – “obtain from the Campania Region, a network of road transport connections between the Alburni and the Salerno-Amalfi Coast airport”.
“Internal Areas on which the work carried out for years by the Internal Areas Commission of the Campania Region is concentrated” – as underlined by the president of the commission and regional councilor, Michele Cammarano. “Infrastructure enhancement implemented in the internal areas also by the Palazzo Sant'Agostino Authority” – as added by the vice president of the Province of Salerno, Giovanni Guzzo.
Infrastructure, transport and – “a tourism project active 365 days a year, through a program that networks the promotion of the territory and the development of cultural and tourist itineraries with outdoor activities, agritourism, experiential tourism and hospitality” – as underlined by the Councilor Delegate for Tourism of the Province of Salerno, Pasquale Sorrentino, promoter of the cultural and tourist itinerary of the 158 municipalities of Salerno with the project “Call to the Arts”.
At the end of the conference, which was attended by economic operators and mayors of the Alburni, among others, the vice-president of the Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola, together with representatives of the Region, Province and Municipality, went to the historic center to cut the ribbon of the food and wine trail with typical traditional dishes that will end at 23.59 pm on Sunday 21 July. A trail with typical dishes of the Postiglione tradition, accompanied by popular music, art exhibitions, craft workshops, guided tours in the mountains, at the historic monuments and outdoor activities in the adventure park and rafting on the Calore river, which already on the first day of Strettule were a great success with the presence of thousands of tourists and visitors.
