From 16th to 19th July, the long-awaited returns Movement Festival, directed by Antonello Tudisco, at the North Area Theater (TAN). TAN in Tempesta: A Traveling Performance
The festival opens with the traditional site-specific itinerant performance entitled “TAN in Tempesta – I Cried to Dream Again”. This performance, inspired by William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, investigates scenic invention as an immaterial force that alters spaces. The choreographies, curated by Marianna Moccia and Antonello Tudisco, are performed by the FUNA and Interno5 companies.
Selection of International Videos
From more than 200 videos from around the world, the expert jury has selected 11, which will be screened every evening from July 17 to 19. These videos will compete for two awards: one awarded by the jury and the other by the viewers, offering a platform for artistic voices from different cultures and contexts.
Performance 'WOOD': A Meeting Between Body and Wood
On July 17th at 20.00:XNUMX pm, the performance “WOOD” will take place, choreographed by Marianna Moccia and Sara Lupoli with Maria Anzivino. This artistic work explores the relationship between the human body, mortal and insecure, and wood, represented by three boards, solid and inscrutable. The dynamics between these elements leads the audience on an emotional and physical journey.
Eternal: Rebellion and Dance
On July 18th, Lebanese performer Bassam Abou Diab will perform “ETERNAL,” a performance produced by Beirut Physical Lab. This performance focuses on how the dancing body can become an element of rebellion against a radical political system, inspired by the protest movements of the Arab Spring. The performance explores the power of symbolic gestures and rhythmic movements created during the protests.
Final Evening and Awards Ceremony
July 19th will mark the final night of the festival, during which the best videos will be awarded. The evening will end with a DJ set, giving attendees the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the various performances and screenings.
