On the occasion of the celebrations of San Gennaro, scheduled for September 18 and 19, Napoli is preparing for a series of temporary changes to the TRAFFIC and the occupation of public land, particularly in the areas of the historic center and Vomero. The authorities have ordered some measures to ensure safety and order during religious events, with a significant impact especially on the area around the Duomo.
Starting from the morning of September 18, a parking ban with forced removal will be established on Via Duomo, which will remain in force until the end of the celebrations the following day. This measure will affect both the stretch between Via Tribunali and Piazzetta San Giuseppe dei Ruffi, and the stretch between Piazza Museo Filangieri and Via Tribunali. Furthermore, on September 19, starting from the early hours of the morning, vehicular traffic will be prohibited along the same road, with the aim of facilitating the flow of the faithful and ensuring the safety of the participants.
Another measure concerns the temporary suspension of taxi parking in via Duomo, which will be applied from 7:19 a.m. on September XNUMX. Also on that day, the sale of beverages in containers such as bottles, cans and glass will be prohibited; beverages can only be served in light plastic or paper cups, to avoid dangerous situations.
Vomero will also be affected by temporary changes in view of the procession in honor of the Patron Saint. In some streets of the neighborhood, including Piazza degli Artisti, Via Luca Giordano and Via Scarlatti, authorizations for the occupation of public land will be suspended, with the temporary removal of tables and chairs from the outdoor areas of commercial activities. These measures, which will come into force on the afternoon of September 19, are intended to facilitate the passage of the procession and allow the celebrations to take place in optimal conditions.
