In the late afternoon, an earthquake of magnitude 2.3 struck Castel di Sasso, in the province of Caserta, increasing the concerns already existing in the area. The earthquake was recorded around 17 pm, with a hypocenter located at a depth of 8 kilometers.
The precise coordinates of the seismic event are 41.1800 latitude and 14.2960 longitude. In the same area, two days earlier, three other seismic shocks had been detected, also monitored by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Engv).
On December 14th, a magnitude 2.4 tremor followed a magnitude 2.3 tremor in Roccamonfina. Subsequently, in the afternoon, another magnitude 1.9 earthquake occurred. The ongoing seismic activity is keeping residents on high alert, while authorities continue to monitor the situation for any developments.
