A Romanian prisoner, who escaped from the Naples-Secondigliano prison last August, was captured in Romania, in the city of Suceava. The man, who had been on the run for months, was identified thanks to investigations coordinated by the Nocera Inferiore Prosecutor's Office. He had been definitively sentenced to two years, three months and 26 days in prison for improper robbery.
On August 8, he had not returned to prison after the work activity that had been granted to him under the semi-liberty regime. His identification was also possible thanks to the analysis of the traces left on the web by the Regional Investigative Unit of the Penitentiary Police of Naples.
Subsequently, thanks to international cooperation, with the support of the Scip-Division Sirene service and the intervention of Eurojust, the fugitive was arrested. He is currently in the custody of the Romanian authorities, awaiting his handover to the Italian authorities.

It's strange how a person who was on semi-liberty can escape so easily. I don't understand why there weren't stricter controls, especially for a prisoner with such a long sentence. Security must be a priority.
