These are some of the measures ordered this morning during the meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by the prefect Michele di Bari, which was attended by the Councilor for Municipal Police and Legality of the Municipality of Naples, Antonio De Iesu, the Police Chief, Maurizio Agricola, the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, Biagio Storniolo, the Commander of the Local Police, Ciro Esposito and the representatives of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza and the Italian Army.
On the occasion of the end-of-year holidays, which will involve a greater influx of people in public places, several targeted devices have been adopted in order to allow the orderly conduct of the events. The Municipality of Naples has prepared specific devices to limit vehicular traffic, from 18,00:31 p.m. on December 2025 until the end of the needs on January XNUMX, XNUMX, in the areas affected by the scheduled concerts and fireworks displays, such as the Lungomare and the city center to ensure the flow and outflow of vehicles as well as to guarantee the passage of emergency vehicles.
An ordinance has also been adopted which provides for the prohibition of the sale of drinks in bottles, cans, glass containers, rigid plastic, tetrapack or any other rigid material, allowing their sale only in light plastic or paper cups, in the streets most affected by the phenomenon of movida (Chiaia – baretti, historic center, Spanish and Vomero quarters).
Furthermore, a specific mayoral ordinance prohibits the sale and possession of sprays or nebulizing devices containing oleoresin capsicum, the introduction and detonation of fireworks, firecrackers, firecrackers, rockets and similar pyrotechnic devices and in general devices containing detonating and explosive mixtures in the areas of Piazza del Plebiscito, Lungomare di Via Caracciolo and Via Parthenope.

Furthermore, in order to further increase the standards of prevention and repression, within the Committee for public order and safety today, specific measures have been arranged in the areas considered most "at risk" (so-called "red zones") of proliferation of forms of widespread illegality or crime that have been identified in the areas of Chiaia, Vomero, Decumani and Garibaldi station.

In such contexts, the prefect will adopt a contingent and urgent measure, lasting three months starting today, prohibiting the loitering of persons who assume aggressive, threatening or persistently harassing attitudes - causing a concrete danger to public safety such as to hinder the free and full usability of those areas - and who are already the recipients of reports to the Judicial Authority for drug-related crimes, crimes against the person, predatory crimes, invasions of land or buildings, illegal possession of weapons, illegal carrying of weapons, carrying of weapons and/or objects capable of offending.

Finally, in recent days, the positioning of deterrents and New Jersey barriers in the areas of the capital that are most attractive from a tourist and commercial point of view has been completed.
