A joint operation by the Coast Guard of Castellammare di Stabia and the Naval Air Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples led to the discovery of illegal construction work in a well-known hotel in Vico Equense.
During the surveillance activities, the intervention of theAnti-illegality Office of the Municipality to verify the legitimacy of the works in progress.
The investigations revealed that the works were carried out without the necessary Building Permit and without landscape authorization. Furthermore, some of the structures affected by the interventions were already the subject of requests for amnesty. The works carried out included the demolition and reconstruction of a reinforced concrete floor, with changes to the heights of a room.
A considerable accumulation of waste from the works was detected in the area, which was deposited in an irregular manner. Further technical checks revealed that the demolition materials had been disposed of illegally, without the mandatory documentation certifying their correct treatment.
The authorities found violations in the urban planning, landscape and environmental fields. For this reason, the seizure of an area of about 700 square meters affected by the works and the accumulation of waste was ordered.
