A chemical company in the industrial area of Pascarola-Caivano has been seized for illegal discharges into the Regi Lagni in a serious case of environmental pollution.
The operation, conducted by the Investigative Unit of the Environmental, Agri-food and Forestry Police (NIPAAF) of the Carabinieri Group Forest of Naples on the directive of the Prosecutor's Office of North Naples.
The company, specialized in the marketing of chemical products, detergents and materials for cosmetics, has been the subject of a long and complex investigation. The charges against the legal representative concern crimes of environmental pollution and illegal discharge of industrial waste.
Investigations revealed that the company's wastewater, contaminated with dangerous substances, was discharged directly into the ASI Caivano-Pascarola sewage system, completely bypassing the purification plant.
The analyses conducted by Arpa Campania have confirmed the presence of high concentrations of toxic substances, with a potentially devastating impact on the local ecosystem and public health. This illegal discharge threatens not only the biodiversity of the Regi Lagni but also the safety of the inhabitants of the area.
In response to these findings, the court ordered the seizure of the company and the appointment of a judicial administrator. This intervention aims to ensure the continuity of production of the company, while ensuring that the necessary measures are taken to comply with current environmental regulations.
The operation underlines the commitment of the police forces in the fight against pollution, protecting both the environment and the health of the community.
