“Befana della Biodiversità”, the Forestry Corps gave gadgets to the little patients of the Pediatrics Department of the Caserta hospital
In keeping with tradition, this year too the Carabinieri della Biodiversità have organised a special day: many children hosted in family homes or hospitalised throughout Italy will receive gifts and a video dedicated to the environment, in the hope that knowledge and love for nature will also help to overcome this difficult period.
The Carabinieri Forestali have organized the “Befana della Biodiversità”, a special day of environmental education and solidarity. The Carabinieri will be present in about 50 pediatric departments of hospitals and family homes throughout Italy, bringing with them a symbol of nature and hope aimed at the approximately 850 children hosted and the health and care personnel involved during the Epiphany.
Gadgets such as notebooks, canvas backpacks or playing cards will be given to alleviate the pain of the little patients and images and sensations regarding the knowledge of biodiversity will be shared, to allow a virtual “contact” with nature.
The images were filmed within the 150 State Natural Reserves and State Forests managed by the Carabinieri Biodiversity Group: exceptional habitats where animal and plant species of rare beauty survive. In Caserta, the Carabinieri will go to the pediatrics department of the Sant'Anna and San Sebastiano Hospital, where the event has been successfully promoted for several years now, also thanks to the support of the hospital staff who have always supported the initiative with great enthusiasm.
Despite the difficulties related to the period, this year the Carabinieri della Biodiversità present will arrive in many more care and reception facilities, to show closeness to all the children hosted or hospitalized, to the doctors and nurses or assistants who were the true protagonists of this pandemic emergency.
