The Culture Decree provides for the possibility of using two cards for purchases related to cultural consumption: the “Carta della Culture young people” is recognized to all those who belong to families with an ISEE lower than 35 thousand euros. The card can be used in the year following the completion of the eighteenth year of age.
The “Carta del merito”, on the other hand, is the second incentive for purchases in the cultural field in favor of young people who have obtained a secondary school diploma with a grade of at least 100 cents and who are no older than 19 years old.
The cards both have a value of 500 euros and are generated virtually following the registration of the applicants on an IT platform, where it will be possible to generate vouchers that can be used for permitted purchases, including for example books, subscriptions to periodicals, recorded music, tickets for museums, exhibitions, galleries, cultural events, archaeological areas, but also for theatre, music and foreign language courses as well as for the purchase of musical instruments.
The Decree was approved yesterday by the Chamber with the confidence placed by the Government and it is expected that no further changes will be made in the Senate. The decree will therefore be definitively converted into law no later than the end of February.
