A day of celebration in Acerra where the entire local community symbolically embraces grandmother Luisella who turns 100 today.
Born on January 4, 1923, Maddalena Tardi, known to all as 'Luisella', was widowed several years ago and has always lived in the historic center of Acerra, surrounded by the affection of her four daughters, thirteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
This afternoon the new centenarian was celebrated by all her family and friends in her home in via Lauro, a stone's throw from the Cathedral. To celebrate this important anniversary, grandmother Luisella received a visit from the municipal administration, which honored her, on behalf of the entire city of Acerra, with a bouquet of flowers.
