The mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi visited the new headquarters of Tangenziale di Napoli in Fuorigrotta this morning and met with workers of the company of the Autostrade per l'Italia Group.
“The Naples Ring Road – the mayor stated – it is a fundamental asset for our city, vital in terms of interconnection: for this reason the effort made by management and workers to modernize and enhance the infrastructure, while reducing the environmental impact, improving air quality and minimizing noise pollution, takes on particular importance. In this context, road safety is our guiding star”.
In the perspective of interconnection with city life, added Manfredi, “we are working with the CEO Luigi Massa to study new development possibilities for the key nodes on the infrastructure and, in particular, to strengthen the junctions of the hospital area, the strategic heart of our services for our territory, a nucleus that covers 50% of the hospital beds in the metropolitan area.
A very important operation to guarantee complete accessibility for the management of the emergency”. “We are working to guarantee an increasingly safe, efficient and green Naples ring road – underlined the CEO Luigi Massa – minimizing the impact on traffic, with construction work mainly at night, with low impact on traffic, given the peculiarity of the ring road which is characterized by daytime flows for approximately 95%”.
The plan to modernize the Naples ring road for approximately 200 million euros, launched last July and conducted with the scientific support of the Federico II University, which sees the involvement of the companies of the Autostrade per l'Italia Group – Amplia, Tecne, Movyon and Free to X – is proceeding at full speed: “of 24 planned interventions, 12 are fully operational construction sites”.
“What is happening in Naples – added the CEO of Aspi Roberto Tomasi – is concrete proof of how the Autostrade per l'Italia Group is operating at a national level. We will support the city of Naples in its development activities". "Every day – stated the president of the Autostrade per l'Italia Group Elisabetta Oliveri – Around 270 thousand vehicles pass through the Naples ring road: a real highway in the heart of the city, a national laboratory for the entire ASPI Group, with a view to sustainability”.
Dwelling on the topic of safety on construction sites, in the face of a major modernization plan, Oliveri added: “We won’t be able to say we’ve achieved our goals until we achieve the main goal: zero accidents at work.”
