Vacanze Spaziali, an innovative start-up in the field of communication and territorial promotion, has received the prestigious patronage for the project “Space Village” by the Italian Space Agency (ASI).
This collaboration aims to bring even more strongly the students of secondary schools, located in the areas considered 'critical' in Southern Italy, to the world of space technologies and innovation, creating a path of promotion and tutoring for the launch of new "young" start-ups, first of all developing a mentality in the territory that can be summarized with the motto: "create work and not find work".
The first test bed of the Project, called “STABIA SPACE VILLAGE”, involves the creation of the first incubator for start-ups in Space and innovation, “Young Hub”, in Castellammare di Stabia, at the Francesco Severi Scientific High School.
The Francesco Severi Scientific High School is in particular the leader of a Network Agreement that currently groups 12 schools in the area.
The Project is divided into 3 phases: dissemination, training and challenge.
The project started with the event “VIVA LO SPAZIO!!!”, a Space festival held last April 21st at the Francesco Severi Scientific High School in Castellammare di Stabia and which saw the enthusiastic participation of around 600 students.
At the end of the event, each institute selected 2 students who participated in a 20-hour internship at the companies of the Polo Aerospaziale Fabbrica dell'Innovazione in Naples, technological partner of Vacanze Spaziali, on the topics of enabling technologies for re-entry from Space and experiments in microgravity.
At the end of the training, the students were asked to take on a “technology challenge” that will culminate with the event next Monday at the Conference Room of the Polo Tecnologico Fabbrica dell'Innovazione, where a team of industry experts will evaluate the projects. After the selection, a prize will be awarded to the three best entrepreneurial proposals.
This will be followed by a 6-month monitoring phase of the entrepreneurial projects that will be implemented in the “Young Hub” STABIA SPACE VILLAGE, a dedicated structure of the Francesco Severi Scientific High School.
"The Italian Space Agency - reads the note sent by ASI - shares the objective of the "Space Village" Project to bring boys and girls closer to the study of scientific subjects through educational-informative and training initiatives. The proposed activities, in fact, constitute a great opportunity for the training of new generations and their centrality in the innovation of the country.
