Selections for new productions are underway: “Il Teatro cerca casa” is looking for shows for the 2023-24 season program. The call for participation is aimed exclusively at professional companies and individual artists or companies can participate.
“In the announcement – explains the artistic director Manlio Santanelli – The Theatre is looking for a home invites interested artists to get involved to ensure the continuity of a rite that boasts eleven years of intense activity”.
Among the actors who have been part of the traveling review in private living rooms: Isa Danieli, Renato Carpentieri, Nello Mascia, Antonella Morea, Cloris Brosca, Federica Aiello, Roberto Giordano, Lello Serao, Mario Porfito, Caterina Pontrandolfo, Fabio Cocifoglia, Enzo Salomone, Gea Martire and many others. The requirements: all types of live performances are admitted (theater, music, dance). Performances in the form of readings are excluded. For technical and organizational reasons, performances lasting less than 70 minutes and by companies composed of a maximum of 3 actors will be given priority.
Companies may not set up any sets in the host homes, but may bring with them only a minimum number of props. Each company/artist may propose only one show. There is no minimum or maximum number of performances for participating companies.
“Theatrical performances – explains the organizer, Livia Coletta – they do not necessarily have to be unpublished, because the aim of the festival is to support the actors, through the creation of new spectators, contributing to the maximum diffusion of valid products, which sometimes fail to have the right valorization”.
The projects must be accompanied by a photograph, the artistic curriculum of the company, a synopsis of the show and, possibly, a video of the work presented. The theatrical works submitted do not necessarily have to be unpublished because the purpose of the festival is to support the artists by contributing to the maximum diffusion of valid theatrical products that are unable to have sufficient circulation through the creation of a new audience. For shows of new dramaturgy, it is necessary to send the text. The proposals must be sent no later than midnight on June 24 to the email address info@ilteatrocercacasa.it
A committee, chaired by the artistic director Manlio Santanelli, will examine the projects received. The selected companies and artists will be informed by email by 15 July 2023.
The festival, now in its eleventh edition, continues its mission: to create a different dimension of enjoyment of live performance, where the intimacy of a private home is reconciled with the theatre.
