Yesterday afternoon, the officers of the San Paolo Police Station, as part of the services set up for this purpose, carried out an operation aimed at combating cigarette smuggling in the Fuorigrotta area.
In particular, the police officers carried out an observation operation in via Gabriele Rossetti during which they noticed a subject near a car and, not far away, a box of cigarettes, and another near a scooter.
The officers, who promptly intervened, blocked both vehicles and checked them. They found 210 cartons of cigarettes weighing 42 kg in the car, while in the scooter's trunk they found another 20 cartons weighing 4 kg.

3550 packets of contraband cigarettes seized
A total of 3550 packages without the State Monopoly mark were seized.
Therefore, the 43-year-old Napoli, together with the driver of the car, a 46-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, were arrested for smuggling foreign manufactured tobacco, while the driver of the motorcycle was administratively fined for the same reason.
