The prefect of SALERNO Francesco Esposito, following the resignations presented yesterday by the majority of the municipal councilors, today ordered the suspension of the Municipal Council of San Marzano Sul Sarno, simultaneously proposing its dissolution. For the provisional management of the institution, the vice-prefect Stella Fracassi, chief of staff of the prefecture, was appointed prefectural commissioner.
Meanwhile, today the distrusted mayor, Carmela Zuottolo, commented on the facts during a press conference: “They didn’t just betray me, they betrayed the city,” she said, attacking the three members of her majority, Angela Calabrese, Gerolamo Oliva and Pasquale Alfano, who signed the distrust: “They made a despicable gesture.” Zuottolo then spoke of a distrust that “was definitely premeditated. My move to Forza Italia,” she remarked, “has nothing to do with this. The majority would have remained civic.”
