Festival Goals

“After the fantastic success of the last edition of the Festival, which saw the participation of young people from all over Italy, from Piedmont, Lombardy, Sardinia, Emilia Romagna and Calabria, we are preparing to create for the third consecutive year this contest dedicated to artists who want to make their way in the very difficult world of music”, said the mayor of Calvizzano, Giacomo Pirozzi. “The aim of the 'Calvizzano Festival d'Autore' is to valorise young authors and composers who are unable to emerge, despite having talent, due to a lack of opportunities. The peculiarity of the format that we launched a few years ago is precisely that it is free. Participants do not have to pay any costs either during the participation phase or to travel to the area, if selected for the final.”

Morgan and Juries Concert

Marco Castoldi, aka Morgan, will take the stage at the Calvizzano Festival d'Autore for a piano and voice concert through a setlist suspended between the great pieces of the Italian and international musical tradition. Naturally he will listen to all the pieces of the 12 young finalist singer-songwriters, who were selected by an artistic jury composed of Carmine Aymone, Michelangelo Iossa, Corrado Montanari and Massimo Zeccolino. Umberto Chiariello, Luisa Mariani and Ferdinando Bocchetti will instead form the jury of journalists.

Special Mention Award

The physical prize for the winner consists of a scale reproduction of the Bell Tower of Calvizzano, made by a local craftsman. "We have supported the festival project with conviction - underlined the Deputy Metropolitan Mayor, Giuseppe Cirillo, during the presentation - because we believe that investing in culture and young people is a priority for the Metropolitan City. The area north of Naples has its main resources in the young generations and in culture: for this reason we believe that offering our talents the opportunity to emerge constitutes a fundamental element for the development of the entire territory."
