Naples. The joy of concert Ultimo broken by a tragic accident: Vincenzo dies, his partner in serious condition
A love to the tune of Ultimo, broken by a cruel fate. Vincenzo DeNittis and Sara, a couple of Peschici, they had crowned their love with a trip to Naples to attend the concert of their favorite singer.
An event that turned into tragedy on the way back, when their motorbike was involved in an accident that took the life of Vincenzo at just 35 years old.
A shared dream. The passion for Ultimo's music had united Vincenzo and Sara, so much so that they traveled 300 kilometers to attend their idol's concert. An experience that they had immortalized on social media, sharing photos and videos that told of their joy and complicity.
The return home turns into a nightmare. Sunday evening, after having sung at the top of our lungs the songs of Ultimo at the Maradona Stadium, the couple had stopped in Naples to spend the night.
Yesterday morning, on provincial road 38 that would have taken them back to their everyday life and their five-month-old baby, fate shattered their dreams.
A tragic collision. There was less than an hour to go home when the motorbike driven by Vincenzo collided head-on with a car. The impact was extremely violent and left no escape for the young man, who died instantly.
Sara, seriously injured, was transported by helicopter to the Policlinico Riuniti in Foggia, where she underwent surgery.
Peschici mourns Vincenzo. The funeral of the young man took place this afternoon in his hometown, where a day of mourning was declared. Sara, still hospitalized, was unable to say her last goodbye to her partner.
Now she fights to return to her child, with the hope of being able to raise him with the love that has always united them, despite the tragedy that shattered their dream.
The investigations. The local magistrates have opened an investigation to ascertain the responsibilities for the accident. The community of Peschici gathers around Vincenzo's family and prays for Sara's recovery, hoping that she can soon smile again, even if her heart is broken by pain.
