A young man of only 23 years of age and of Indian nationality died after being hit by a train in transit near the railway station of Ascea, in the province of Salerno. On site, there is the Polfer that is carrying out all the necessary checks. On the Naples - Reggio Calabria line, therefore, rail traffic remains suspended between Ascea and Pisciotta.

According to an initial reconstruction by investigators, the man, at the Ascea station, threw himself onto the tracks as the Intercity Rome-Reggio Calabria train passed by. The Polfer is currently investigating what happened and is analyzing the images from the cameras inside the station.
