Complicated day for maritime transport in Golfo di Napoli because of Maltempo that is affecting the region. A strong wind from the west/southwest has made the sea very rough, forcing shipping companies to suspend numerous connections with the islands of Ischia, Capri and Procida, as well as those between Napoli and Sorrento.
All hydrofoil services to the islands in the gulf have been suspended, making transportation particularly difficult for residents and tourists. Ferries are also operating intermittently: several departures from Naples to Capri and from Pozzuoli to Ischia and Procida have been canceled. Shipping companies, in anticipation of further worsening weather conditions, recommend checking the regularity of services in advance via websites and call centers.
The only guaranteed connection so far has been the slow ferry *Naiade* of the Caremar company, which departed from Capri at 6:40 in the morning and made the return trip from Calata di Massa to the island at 9:00, embarking passengers bound for the island. For the rest of the day, barring a worsening of the sea, this will probably remain the only option available to reach Capri from the mainland.
The weather situation remains critical: a yellow criticality weather alert is in effect in the Campania region until 9 am tomorrow. The disturbance is also causing problems in other areas of the Gulf, where there are no active connections between Capri, Sorrento and other locations so far.

Today was a very complicated day for transportation in the Gulf of Naples, with the wind canceling many trips. Tourists and residents had difficulty moving around. I hope the situation improves soon, because the islands are beautiful but without connections you can't go.
