Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi silences rumors of his possible candidacy for the center-right presidency of the Campania Region. "I am proud and happy to be a minister. I don't think there are the conditions for my direct involvement. The parties will decide on the center-right candidacy", he declared, speaking in Pietrastornina, in the province of Avellino, during the presentation of the book “Politics and Thought: Stories and Characters of the Twentieth Century Parties” by Andrea Covotta.
During his speech, Crying himself he also underlined the political legacy of the Avellino province, recalling the role of the Christian Democrat ruling class of the past: “Even today there is a strong need for a political thought and practice inspired by the moderation and interclassism that this land has been able to express at the highest levels”.
According to the minister, these values are now expressed in the centre-right government: “This trend is fully represented by the current coalition and by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni”, he added. Piantedosi's clarification therefore seems to close the chapter on his possible entry into the field for the leadership of the Campania Region, leaving the center-right political forces with the task of identifying the candidate who will challenge the outgoing Vincenzo De Luca.

It is interesting to hear the words of Minister Piantedosi. But I do not know if the center-right really has the right conditions to win, given that people seem to be rather skeptical about today's politicians. Political history is complicated.
