Yesterday, February 26 , a meeting chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari , was held at the evocative Casina Vanvitelliana in Bacoli . The meeting was dedicated to the topic of assistance to vulnerable people in the event of seismic events linked to bradyseism in the Campi Flegrei.
The meeting was attended by the mayors of Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida , together with the Education Councillor of the Municipality of Naples, Maura Striano , representatives of the Police Force , the Fire Brigade , the regional Civil Protection , the health companies , the 118 emergency service , the Vesuvian Observatory and the Italian Red Cross.
At the Prefect's urging, the Campania Region's Civil Protection Department , in collaboration with the local health authorities and the emergency number 118 , has developed an intervention plan for the rescue and assistance of people with disabilities or frailties . The goal is to ensure medical and psychological support for the population living in high-risk areas. The operational plan will be officially signed at the next meeting of the Rescue Coordination Center , convened today at the Prefecture.
Following the summit, the citizens' committees met for a discussion on ongoing activities. Representatives expressed appreciation for the initiatives launched by the institutions in recent weeks, particularly the improved communication and planning of assistance interventions . Finally, a further update was agreed within a month to monitor progress and strengthen measures to protect the population.
