Ischia. As part of targeted checks in the gaming and betting sector, ADM officials belonging to the Anti-Fraud Office and the Gaming Section of DT IX Campania, have proceeded to check various commercial establishments on the Island of Ischia.
Activities that led, with particular regard to a SLOT and VLT room, to a criminal complaint. Inside a room, in fact, ADM officials found a customer intent on playing with a VLT device, known to work by inserting the health card into the card reader.
At the end of the gaming session, at the request of ADM officials, the customer extracted a health card from the reader that did not correspond to his personal details, as it was registered to another person.
The man explained that the card had been provided to him, following his request, by the employee of the hall present at the time of access. The ADM officials, following this statement, found, inside the establishment, in the drawers of the betting counter, other health cards belonging to people not present at the time of the check.
The availability in the premises of health cards registered to multiple people and the actual use of one of them, would allow the owner of the hall, holder of two police licenses pursuant to art. 88 TULPS, therefore considered reliable from a public safety perspective, to allow access to the game to people without a health card, in order to thus gain the loyalty of those who mistakenly fear that their privacy is being violated.
