The mayor of Ercolano, Ciro Buonajuto announces the realization of five new important projects for the city.
“With the PNRR funds we will carry out five projects for the construction of an indoor multipurpose facility in via D'Annunzio, the construction of a cycle/pedestrian path along the coast, but also the redevelopment and environmental improvement of a green area behind the Church of Pugliano, in addition to the redevelopment of the public housing in via Fossogrande”.
There are currently five projects for a financing of over 12 million euros of funds for the Pnrr that will be carried out in Ercolano. Satisfaction in the words of Ciro Buonajuto, mayor of Ercolano and national vice president of Anci, who on the sidelines of the control room on the Pnrr funds, chaired by Professor Luigi Nicolais, speaks of "works of extraordinary importance for our city and that thanks to the work of the offices and the opportunities coming from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan we will be able to carry out".
There are four projects related to the public works sector, one instead is in charge of social policies: “These are improvements for our community, I am thinking of the 3,5 million euro funding that will allow us to carry out a series of energy and seismic requalification interventions on the municipal properties in Via Fossogrande, built after the 1980 earthquake.
Construction site to start by the end of June 2023″ – explains the mayor. “With the funds we will be able to create a work that our city was missing: a Sports Hall, financed with approximately two million and 800 thousand euros, and which will be built in an area within the Maiuri school institute.
A multipurpose facility that will be made available to Ercolano's sports associations” – says Buonajuto. “Thanks, instead, to two fundings related to as many calls for proposals foreseen within the Pnrr by the Metropolitan City of Naples, we will create a cycle/pedestrian path on the coast line that will allow us to connect with the port of Torre del Greco and the Portici seafront. Another extraordinary attraction for our Ercolano, thanks to funding of over 5 million euros: a beautiful and sustainable work.
Pay attention to sustainability also with respect to the work, worth approximately 700 thousand euros, which will affect the green area behind the Basilica of Pugliano, here a work of environmental redevelopment and improvement will be carried out and at the same time a hub dedicated to car and bike sharing will be created, to encourage the increase in the use of electric vehicles in the city” – concludes the mayor of Ercolano.
As far as social policies are concerned, at the moment, the Municipality of Ercolano is the beneficiary of a project of 212 thousand euros for three years and which will be finalized for the support of families in conditions of social vulnerability through the construction of a pact with the educational community that sees the involvement of schools, territorial associations, parishes and general practitioners.
