The agents of the Secondigliano Police Station, of the Naples Air Border Police – Capodichino, the Carabinieri of the Stella Operational Unit, of the Carabinieri Station of San Pietro a Patierno and personnel of the Municipal Police – Airport Operational Unit and of the Tourist Police Operational Unit, with the collaboration of the Campania Crime Prevention Department, carried out an extraordinary territorial control service at the airport of Capodichino to combat the phenomenon of illegal public transport.
During the operation, 154 people were identified, 49 of whom had a police record, and 101 vehicles were checked, including 32 taxis and/or NCCs.
Several taxi drivers were charged with 4 violations of the Highway Code, including picking up customers out of shift, failure to show a receipt for the predetermined fare, and failure to display the required NCC license. These drivers were reported to the Office for Non-Scheduled Public Transport of the Municipality of Naples.
In addition, a street vendor was fined and issued with an order to leave. This intensive control is part of the authorities' commitment to ensuring safe and regular public transport for travelers passing through Capodichino Airport.
