Wanted in Germany, identified in Caserta. The police arrested a 28-year-old non-EU citizen, originally from Nigeria, because he was being sought by German judicial authorities.
During preventive and administrative police checks, the agents of the Immigration Office of the Caserta Police Headquarters discovered that the man, applying for a residence permit for international protection, had provided several identities during his stay in Europe.
Through investigative work and database analysis, it was possible to link one of these identities to an individual “wanted” for aggravated sexual assault, a crime committed in Germany.
Furthermore, during the arrest, it emerged that the man was in possession of a “machete” and other cutting tools, kept in a backpack that he had with him.
The individual was then arrested and transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Prison, at the disposal of the Court of Appeal of Naples, for the procedures relating to extradition and delivery to the German authorities.
