Simone Inzaghi, coach of Inter, is the winner of the thirteenth edition of the Enzo Bearzot National Award, an award promoted by the Unione Sportiva ACLI in collaboration with the FIGC. The jury's motivation emphasizes that Inzaghi managed the so-called locker room with a leadership that combines severity and paternal affection, a fundamental characteristic for his results.
The award will be presented to the Nerazzurri coach on April 22nd at the Salone d'Onore del Coni. The announcement was made in the 'Paolo Rossi' room of the FIGC, in the presence of the president of Us Acli, Damiano Lembo, and the president of the Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina. The award jury, coordinated by the sports editor-in-chief of the national Ansa, Piercarlo Presutti, met in the morning to make the decision.
Livio Berruti, former Italian sprinter and Olympic gold medalist in the 200m at the Rome '60 Games, received the special career award, while Matteo Marcenaro was indicated by the AIA as the winner of the award named in memory of Stefano Farina, a referee who passed away in 2017. The motivation underlines that Berruti's flight continues to excite even after more than 60 years and represents an example of tenacity, characterizing a career lived with determination.
