100 kilograms of bread seized in the province of Caserta. Operation conducted by the Carabinieri in three points of sale.

The bread was sold loose in places other than those where it was produced, violating the regional legislation that requires pre-packaging.

The military personnel of the Carabinieri Forestali Nuclei of Marcianise and Vairano Patenora conducted joint checks to verify compliance with the provisions on the correct sale of bread in places outside of production.

Failure to comply with regulations

In fact, regional legislation requires the pre-packaging of bread, both for traceability and health and hygiene reasons.

During the checks, in three different sales points, respectively in the municipalities of Alife, Piedimonte Matese and Vairano Patenora, batches of loose bread were found for a total of more than 100 kilograms.

In such cases, the bread should have been pre-packaged with cling film, as required by current legislation.

The Forestry Carabinieri then seized the irregular bread and fined the owners of the three stores 2000 euros each.
