This morning, two officers from the municipal police of Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples, intervened following a report from a citizen. The call concerned a man in difficulty while kitesurfing. The athlete, due to adverse weather and sea conditions, had lost control of his equipment and was in danger a short distance from the shore, in the stretch of sea in front of the municipal villa.
The two officers, Marshal Nicola Coraggio and Assistant Catello Amalfi, intervened promptly, providing first aid and securing the equipment. Subsequently, the men of the Coast Guard also arrived, who collaborated in the recovery and rescue operations. The man suffered a wound to the cheekbone, which is expected to heal in a few days.
