An agreement has not yet been reached for the new president of Serie A League. During today's meeting, Ezio Simonelli, a presidential candidate, received 13 votes, one less than the 14 required by the statute to reach a quorum for election. The result reflects a split among the clubs.
There were six blank ballots, a sign of indecision or disagreement, while one vote was surprisingly directed to Mario Draghi, former Prime Minister, a gesture that was probably symbolic or provocative. There will not be a second vote today. The representatives of Serie A have decided to adjourn the matter to a new meeting, which will have to be convened in the coming days.
The issue of the presidency therefore remains open, with the risk of prolonging the decisional impasse at a crucial moment for the future of Italian football. The strategies of the clubs now remain to be understood: will they insist on Simonelli, trying to obtain the missing consensus, or will a new name emerge capable of reuniting the League? The political game is still all to be played.

It is strange that no agreement can be found for the president of the Lega Serie A. The votes were few and even the blank ballots show that there are disagreements between the clubs, and I hope that a solution can be found soon.
