Port of Ischia – Routine checks by the Carabinieri on the passengers of a hydrofoil that had just docked turned into a decisive operation. Andrea Sirabella, 19, originally from Casamicciola Terme and already known to the police, aroused the suspicions of the military for his behavior: as soon as he disembarked, he accelerated his pace in an attempt to disappear.
His behavior immediately attracted the attention of the Carabinieri of the Ischia Station, who stopped him for a check. During the search, the young man was found in possession of two blocks of hashish, weighing a total of 200 grams, hidden in his underwear.
The checks then continued at the 19-year-old's home, where, under the mattress, the soldiers found a blank gun and a katana.
Andrea Sirabella was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and illegal possession of weapons. The young man is now awaiting transfer to prison.
