A concert at the Michelangelo Museum in Caserta concludes a series of three events organized in collaboration with the “Buonarroti” Technical Institute. The museum, dedicated to scientific and technological discoveries, has been recognized as being of interest by the Campania Region since 2008.
Thematic visit and musical program
The exhibition will be preceded by a thematic visit to the collection, which includes instruments and measuring procedures dating back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The museum stands out for having reproduced these instruments in a functional way, the originals of which no longer exist.
The concert features music and dances belonging to the court of the Trastàmara of Aragon, kings of Naples, and the Medici of Florence, dating back to the period between 1450 and 1500. The program includes humorous or satirical pieces, such as those from the Aragonese codex Montecassino 871 and carnival songs by Lorenzo de' Medici. The dances are based on contemporary treatises by choreographers such as Domenico da Piacenza and Guglielmo Ebreo da Pesaro.
Ancient music review
The event of February 28th represents the 11th appointment of the 23rd edition of the review “… where music meets its time…”, which takes place in historical places with a musical repertoire performed and illustrated. The review is curated by the Cultural Association “Ave Gratia Plena” and the Cultural Association “Francesco Durante”.
