A reckless chase through the streets of the city centre ended with the arrest of two men in Charles III square: yesterday evening, two Tunisian citizens, of And 22 29 years, already known to the police and irregulars on the national territory, were stopped by the State Police on charges of resistance to a public official, injuries and damage to public administration property.
The intervention was triggered when the officers of the General Prevention Office – Nibbio, engaged in a territorial control service, noticed a scooter with two young people on board in Corso Garibaldi, with the passenger without helmet. When asked to stop, the driver ignored the signal and accelerated, starting a high-speed chase.
During the escape, the two made dangerous maneuvers, putting road traffic at risk. Their journey was interrupted when, after hitting some parked cars, they crashed into a police service motorbike. Once stopped, the fugitives opposed resistance, trying to escape the officers.
After a short but violent scuffle, both were permanently immobilized and arrested. Now the two will have to answer to the charges before theJudicial authority, while investigations into their position on the national territory continue.
