Pomigliano d'Arco – A body was left stranded in front of the city cemetery due to the revocation of the permit and authorization of the funeral home responsible for transport.
The decision sparked a reaction from the owner and workers of the company, now standing at the cemetery gates waiting to be able to bury the deceased.
The provision was notified to the company this morning, following a municipal executive order, issued at the request of the Carabinieri who found violations of the 2001 regional law.
The administrator of the “Forino Group” expressed surprise at the revocation, which occurred a few hours after the burial, underlining that in the past months the company had regularly obtained the necessary permits.
“The body was entrusted to us yesterday,” explains the administrator, “and the revocation was signed only this morning. We couldn’t keep it in the funeral home. We found out about the revocation when we went to the Town Hall to complete the transportation paperwork. We decided to take the coffin to the cemetery out of respect for the deceased, a 91-year-old woman, and her family.”
Also present was Domenico Foria, whose name in the past has been linked to an anti-mafia ban regarding his funeral transport company. “I have no connection with members of the Foria clan,” he declared, “and I cannot continue to pay for the surname I bear.
For this reason, my wife's company has already been blocked twice, despite the fact that a registration error has been proven. Now this company is also suffering the consequences of a misunderstanding that must end."
Local authorities are investigating the matter to clarify the bureaucratic aspects and ensure compliance with current regulations.
