Salerno – A man with numerous criminal records has been placed under house arrest on charges of aggravated theft, robbery and extortion.
The Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters Salerno executed a precautionary order issued at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, holding the individual responsible for a series of robberies carried out between July and October of last year against supermarkets in the city.
According to the investigations, the criminal targeted several commercial establishments with the aim of unlawfully taking possession of foodstuffs. In some cases, he did not hesitate to resort to violence and threats against cashiers and security personnel.
The images recorded by video surveillance cameras and the testimonies of customers and employees present during the robberies were crucial to the identification of the man.
