A theft that turns into an extraordinary demonstration of solidarity. This is what happened to Happy Arch, a hamlet of Pozzuoli, where a woman, who has been suffering from cancer for 15 years, had her stereo and disabled permit stolen while her car was parked.
The desperate appeal on social media
The victim, deeply shocked, launched an appeal on social media that touched the hearts of the entire Pozzuoli community:
“I am addressing those who made this gesture: do you know why I have a disabled permit? Because I have been fighting cancer for 15 years. I hope you never need it!”
His words sparked a wave of support and, in less than 24 hours, the permit was found thanks to Ferdinando Capuano, a citizen who immediately took action to return it.
A woman's thanks: "There are still people with big hearts"
Relieved by the discovery, the woman wanted to publicly thank those who helped her:
“There are people capable of unjust actions, but also many with big hearts,” he commented.
An episode that, despite the initial bitterness, demonstrated how a sense of community and solidarity can still make a difference.
