The contract between the Municipality of Caserta and the company in charge of carrying out the redevelopment of Villa Giaquinto, an important green lung of the capital managed for years by a citizens' committee, which however needed revitalization works. The interventions, worth approximately 300 thousand euros, are financed with funds from the Pnrr (Urban Regeneration - Mission 5), and will mainly concern the maintenance and care of the greenery, with the planting of new tree species, the construction of a new irrigation system, the creation of areas for recreational activities, including a skate park, and the resurfacing of all the road sections.
New children's rides will also be installed, with special safety flooring in the areas surrounding the games, new street furniture (benches and bins), and a new fountain. The lighting system will also be improved, a fundamental element to ensure safety for those who frequent this important public space; paths will then be created to ensure maximum enjoyment by all, with the presence of tactile paths for the visually impaired and blind.
"With the signing of the contract - explained the mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino - we are ready to start the construction site to redevelop a place in our city with a high symbolic value, always frequented by young people and families and which over the years has been the scene of multiple social and cultural events. We have decided to focus a lot on Villa Giaquinto, which will have to become one of the main meeting places for the entire citizenry, with the possibility, for everyone, to be able to use modern and functional spaces, dedicated to culture, sports and leisure"
