Two people died and five were injured in a road accident that occurred last night in a tunnel along the SP 639 in the municipality of Pusiano, in the province of Como, on the border with the province of Lecco.
The victims are two men aged 42 and 43 who were travelling in a Volkswagen Golf with a third passenger. A few minutes after 2am their car collided head-on with a Ford Pickup. A third vehicle, an Opel, was also involved, the driver of which was unable to avoid the impact with the other two vehicles stopped in the centre of the roadway.
The Carabinieri, firefighters and 118 ambulances were on site. Two of the five injured - the most serious - were hospitalized at the San Gerardo hospital in Monza, the others at Sant'Anna in Como and Manzoni in Lecco.
